So that's what daylight looks like....

I must be a masochist, or I must have done some evil in a previous life....

I spent my Saturday doing preparatory video work for Phoenix. Not sitting at home watching the telly, not mowing the lawn, not stretching out in bed for a well-earned lie-in, but doing Phoenix work. In an edit suite. With no natural light.

It's that time in the off-season when we start to look over what went right last year, what went wrong last year, and where we're going this year. Working behind the scenes with Phoenix is a great experience, and it can be a heck of a lot of fun too, as we get to bounce ideas back and forth and see what develops, and it's that stage we're in at the moment. Mike Landers and I have been bouncing some concepts for video pieces back and forth, and I've been editing together some test trailers and opening sequence ideas, in order to get back into the swing of things. We've had our month off, now it's time to get back down to business....

Pretty soon we'll be having a meeting with Neil Morris and Mark Samaru, to discuss the direction the match night entertainment should be going in. This is where we get chance to bounce our ideas off the men in charge, to see whether we get the yay or nay on a particular idea, and where we get a feel for what we should be focussing on. "Kiss-Cam" seemed to work well, so expect that back next season, although the idea of "having dancing elephants on the ice during the interval" is probably one that won't make it off the drawing board.....
