The phoenix web site

Mike mentioned how he got involved in the site a little further down - I'd like to add a little more background...

From the time that FOMIH was formed I ran the web site - in fact I actually registered www.stormfans.co.uk as we (me, Rev, and a couple of others) were going to try and help keep Storm going before the plug was pulled there.

As things moved along and the Phoenix became a reality me continuing to run the site was going to be a problem. Firstly I'm still reasonably active behind the scenes at www.eurohockey.net a site I co-founded back in Dec 98, secondly my first baby was due to arrive any day. Although I'd managed to run both sites with their occasional updates so far, during the season with more updating needed I wouldn't have the time.

The general feeling was that the site would be better with somebody who cared running it, like in when Mark Jones used to run the Storm site. Eventually we decided that we'd have a small team of around three people to run the site.

Mike was first on my list of people I was going to approach. I'd known him for a good while, I knew I could work with him. Out of the blue I got an email from Mike offering to help with the site. Obviously I took him up on that.

We never did find anybody else - although most of the content is produced by the rest of the Phoenix staff so it hasn't really been a problem.

From there as they say, the rest is history.
