We were informed today of the passing of Graham Nurse, one of Manchester ice hockey's true characters. Over the years Graham's influence on Mancunian ice hockey has been tremendous, with his ideas and views shaping the development of teams like the Altrincham Aces / Trafford Metros, the Manchester Storm and the Manchester Phoenix. A long-time advocate of the junior development system, Graham's hard work reaped dividends in the number of local players who went on to play at higher levels as they got older.
Rest in peace, Graham, rest in peace. You'll be missed.

Anyone who was even slightly involved in Manchester ice hockey during the last two decades will have known of Graham Nurse.
He was a major influence on the sport and will be missed.
Well respected and well liked by everyone. His presence on and off the ice around the North West will be greatly missed.
Deepest sympathy to Grahams family at this difficult time.
