Stay behind, class

A-levels out today, and the pantomime season is upon us.

96% of A-Level students passed and the usual uproar is "thats because the exams are getting easier".

Now, lets work this through, shall we. The Government memorably described their top three priorities as "education, education, education". They've put money into education.

That money went to better schools and more teachers. Those extra teachers teach the kids using better equipment. Yet, when the extra teachers in the done-up schools produce better results... it is because the exams are getting easier?

It seems that the critics should retake some basic maths.

I remember back in 1990 when I got my A-Level result from my sixth form college. I was particularly peeved that the papers were full of stories about how the exams must be getting easier, because I'd failed mine....

And yet you have Parents revealing that their children admitted to not answering 50% of the questions in their final exams and still attaining a 'C' grade.....
