If you're going to sing the Star Spangled Banner....

Make sure you know the words!

It's not very often that I'll put an article on here that links to something not related to Phoenix or the interesting lives that we lead *cough cough* but this one I just had to post. Click on the title bar of this article and you'll be taken to some lovely footage of a hockey match singer forgetting the words to the Star Spangled Banner. Twice. And then falling over. In front of 7000 fans. Ouch.

I must admit that whilst feeling totally sorry for the poor singer, I couldn't help but have a laugh at the whole thing. The number of times I would take to the ice with a microphone in hand during the Phoenix match intervals, all the time smiling and carrying out my presenting duties to the best of my abilities, and all the time nearly soiling myself at the prospect of going base over apex in front of the Phoenix home crowd. (I know some of you were even wishing for it).

I'm pretty sure the German term for it is 'schadenfreude' - I learned that one from The Simpsons. (Who said TV can't be educational?)

Anyway, enjoy in sympathy!
