Today is a day that many hoped the Phoenix would see. A day that many thought the Phoenix would never see. A day that some didn't want the Phoenix to see.
Over two years of slog and determination and guts. People have put their time, their money, their heart and their soul into keeping this club going. None more so than Neil Morris who has been knocked down a thousand times and every single time got back up again.
It has been a tough, tough journey. We've laughed, shouted, joked, moaned, smiled, cried, yelled and whispered. I've had to sit back and read people writing us off when they have no concept of what is going on. And then when a quiet email or PM of support comes through, it makes it all OK. Long periods of quiet followed by frenetic activity.
So forgive the self-indulgence, but there might be a few misty sets of eyes in Ice Sheffield around 7.30pm.
