Gutted

Right then, well after having not a lot to say for a while. Then finding that Blogger had a new system that I couldn't transfer to (yet Rev had moved the blog). I'm finally back in here.

I'm gutted that the ice wasn't ready for weekend, so close yet...

That said looking on the bright side, everything was nearly there for the weekend so it's even more likely that the next attempt will happen.

What I really wanted to post about though was closing down the Phoenix Forum on Sunday afternoon.

In part it was that although we got the announcement out quick, it was just that - the details of what was wrong hadn't yet been released. On top of that quite a few people were at the rink helping out so I had concerns that half a dozen different stories would all start to appear. All heard from people who were there, down at the rink. All speculating as to what was going wrong and what should be done.

As was rightly said by bruno on the forum the other part was it was allow people time to absorb what had happened so that they didn't post things they may regret later. Combined with this was the practicality that although I was at home when the game was called off, I had to pop out for a short while and everybody else who moderates the forum was actually down at the rink helping out - so there wasn't anybody to keep an eye on things.
